The Winnsboro Rotary Club will be sponsoring two delegates, Zachary Bowens (left) and Kristin Irby to this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (R.Y.L.A.) Zachary is a rising junior at Fairfield Central High School and Kristin is a rising senior at Richard Winn Academy. This week-long motivational, leadership training and free enterprise seminar is for rising high school juniors and seniors. This year’s R.Y.LA. will be held at Erskine College in Due West, S.C. June 10-16. The Winnsboro Rotary Club pays the tuition for two delegates to attend each year. This seminar is designed to help the delegates develop sound leadership techniques for use in school and extracurricular activities, as well as in life. Attendees gain personal growth and development through interaction with peers and outstanding business, political, and community leaders. Each delegate receives a $1,000 per year RYLA Scholarship to be applied toward tuition at Erskine College upon acceptance, renewable for up to four years.
