BLYTHEWOOD: Lois F. Beumer, 73, of Blythewood, passed away, Saturday, June 16, 2012. Born in Oil City, Penn., she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mildred Stover. Mrs. Beumer greatly enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking and catering for church functions. She also volunteered with organizations that provided meals for different occasions within the community. Lois worked for many years with the United Parcel Service as a claims representative. She formally attended The Fellowship of Bible Churches and was a current member of Pine View Baptist Church of Blythewood. Survivors include her daughter, Apryl (Thomas) Westfall of Laurens, SC; three grandchildren, Anthony Lilly, Laura (Jeff) Hay, and Kevin Keniston; six great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Jo) Stover; sisters, Thelma (Steve) Flanagan, Phyllis Douglas. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Peaches. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles “Chuck” Beumer; three brothers, Kenneth Alton, Paul Wayne, and James Lloyd Stover, and a brother-in-law, Bert Douglas. The funeral service for Mrs. Lois Beumer was held at 3 o’clock Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Pine View Baptist Church in Blythewood, S.C., with the Pastor Jacob Helsley officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 5 until 7 o’clock, Tuesday evening at Shives Funeral Home on Colonial Drive in Columbia.
