Blythewood: Funeral services for Larry Edward Scott Sr., age 68, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Lake Wateree Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ron Gregory. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Scott died at his home on Friday, July 13, 2012. He was the husband of Judy Ballentine Scott and the son of the late Levy Jordan Scott and Mildred Frances Kitchens. He was born in Youngs Island, S.C. on Nov. 28, 1943. Mr. Scott was the owner of Palmetto Office Machines in Columbia, S.C. He also was retired from the USMC Reserves.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, Judy, Mr. Scott is survived by a son, Larry E. ‘Scotty’ Scott Jr. of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; one daughter, Elizabeth Paige Scott of Blythewood; two brothers, Jimmy C. Scott and his wife Evelyn and the Rev. A. Lamont Scott and his wife Yvonne; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mr. Scott was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy L. McHale.
