The Blythewood Bengals (1-1) go for their second straight win Friday night. Westwood (0-2) is in search of their first win after coming up just short in the final minutes last week against Richland Northeast, 21-17. With the result up in the air in those final minutes, Blythewood head coach Reggie Kennedy knows Westwood had a chance to win the game at the end and the Bengals will have to be prepared.
“We don’t overlook any opponent,” Kennedy said. “They’re a scrappy bunch and they’re a solid team.”
Kennedy shook off any notion that with this week’s game being a cross-town game it is any bigger than just the next game on their schedule.
“We don’t want our kids to get caught up in the emotion,” Kennedy said. “So all week long we are preparing them mentally and physically to be ready for the game.”
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 Friday night at Blythewood High School.
