Pap Boyter

Winnsboro: Funeral services for Clifford Odell “Pap” Boyter, age 72, were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro conducted by the Rev. Mark Chapman. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Mr. Boyter died on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Jane Thomas Boyter and the son of the late Andy and Lois Boyter. He was born in Winnsboro on Nov. 20, 1939. Mr. Boyter was a heavy equipment operator for Richland County and attended First Baptist Church of Winnsboro.

In addition to his wife Jane of 53 years, Mr. Boyter is survived by a son, Steve Boyter of Lexington; a daughter, Shirley Locklair and her husband Jack of Winnsboro; a brother, Melvin “Fuzz” Boyter of Winnsboro; two sisters, Brenda Bennett and her husband Alan of Richburg, S.C., Ann Ramirez and her husband Chico of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and two granddaughters, Julie Anne Locklair and Heather Boyter.

Mr. Boyter was predeceased by two brothers, Jimmy Boyter, David Langford; and three sisters, Vivian Boyter, Betty Ruth Gibson and Catherine Finger.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Winnsboro First Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
