Eagles Shine in All-Star Game

Richard Winn Academy’s contribution to the SCISA North-South All-Star Game: Reid Johnson (20), Corey Davis (8) and Logan Gibbons (15).

Corey Davis (with football) scrambles out of the pocket as Reid Johnson (20) finds open territory in the end zone.

Three Richard Winn Academy Eagles showed their stuff during the SCISA 8-Man All-Star football game, Dec. 1 in Orangeburg. Eagle quarterback Corey Davis started for the North, rushing for 18 yards and one touchdown. Reid Johnson got the start at tight end for the North, catching two Davis passes for 39 yards, as well as three 2-point conversion passes from Davis. Johnson also saw time at defensive end and safety, where he made three tackles and had one assist.

It was Logan Gibbons, however, who had the last word of the day, booting a 45-yard field goal with no time remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter to end the contest in a 42-42 tie. Gibbons also racked up six tackles and one assist at defensive end for the North.
