The Voice of Blythewood & Fairfield County

Hail to the Chef –

Blythewood High School’s new culinary arts chef, Tom Sedio (second from left), with three of his culinary arts students, Katie Kuhn (left), Eddreeka Henry and Dallas Bailey, as they display some of the 60 or so box lunches they prepared last week for Bistro 801. Bistro 801 is a fundraiser for the culinary program and is offered one to two times a month for teachers and staff. Chef Sedio replaces the school’s former chef, William Turner, who retired from teaching last fall due to health reasons.  Chef Sedio, a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, has been in the culinary industry for over 22 years, getting his start in a small Italian restaurant washing dishes after school. His specialty? Mediterranean, of course.
