On Jan. 31, the fifth thru 12th grades at Richard Winn Academy enjoyed a visit from Joey Korn (right, signing books for RWA students), the author of “Abe’s Story, a Holocaust Memoir.” Korn’s father, Abe, was a survivor of the Holocaust. Before he passed away, Abe Korn wrote of his experiences in eight different concentration camps, as well as a 45-day death march from Auschwitz. Korn told the very emotional story of how his father gave his all to survive this horrible event in his life. The students were amazed at the determination of one person and his drive to make a better life for himself once he was liberated.
