Griffin Individuals, Relay Teams Qualify for State Meet

Three Griffin individuals and both the boys’ and girls’ relay teams qualified for the state meet at Saturday’s qualifying events at Landrum High School.

Aliyah Miller (region champion in the 100- and 200- and 400-meters) qualified in first place in the girls’ 100-meters and brought home a second-place finish in the 200-meters.

Jada Martin (region champion in the long jump and triple jump) qualified with a third-place finish in the long jump and a fourth-place finish in the triple jump.

The girls’ 4×100 relay team (Shytaneece Woodard, Jada Martin, Chelsea Seibles, Aliyah Miller) qualified with a second-place finish.

For the boys, Devontae Foster qualified in the 100-meters with a second-place finish.

The boys’ 4×100 relay team (Larry Bell, Joseph Young, Shadarious Hopkins, Devontae Foster) also qualified with a second-place finish.

The state meet will be held this Saturday at Lower Richland High School.
