Bengals Cross Country Notches Perfect Score

The Blythewood boys cross country team got the season off to a great start Sept. 4 as they defeated RNE by a score of 40-15. The race represented the first time in BHS history that a team recorded a perfect score, as the boys were able to take the first fifteen individual places.

The team was led by senior Mike Lantz, who placed first overall with a time of 17:59. Other top performers were Hunter Jarvis (second – 19:06), TJ Kirby (third – 19:29), Brandon Hardwick (fourth – 20:11), Ben Connor (fifth – 20:14), James Palmer (sixth – 20:16) and Jalen Brown (seventh – 20:20). The boys’ next race is the Coaches Classic on Sept. 14 at Sandhills.
