Listening at Last

After years of dissent from the community, Fairfield County Council has finally realized they do not have the ability, insight or qualifications to offer this community a clear vision for our future; nor do they have the ability to plan and present any concise ideas on how to spend or not spend the tax money coming into this community.

The District 7 Councilman should get a little credit for being the first of seven Council members to admit this failure. He also noted the reports done back in 2010 expressing specific views and ideas of what can and should be done, where, how, etc., and now finally they will be moving towards that decision.

The people of Fairfield County need only to realize Ethics Commission charges, Attorney General opinions, 1 percent sales tax town hall meetings, an excess of $2 million given to one contractor without so much as a competing bid and vacationing on Hilton Head Island on the taxpayers’ dime – these are not petty or trivial charges. Those actions have left the entire Council in a position ready to find new jobs coming this election.

Let’s send them all packing their bags and hopefully leaving town for good.
