Steve Smith

WINNSBORO – Robert Stephen “Steve” Smith went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, after a brief illness. Born Dec. 7, 1963, he was the son of Bobby Richard and Deane H. Smith.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Crystal Berry Smith; a son, Christopher S. B. Smith and a daughter, Courtland D. Smith; a brother, Joel A. Smith (Liz) of Lugoff; a sister Jennifer S. “Dee Dee” Wilkes (Les); a brother -in-law, W. Carl Berry, of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Carol Ann B. Garifalon (Tim); nephews, Jason Wilkes, Adam Smith, Daniel Garifalon and Jordan Garifalon; nieces, Asia Trevino and Amanda Trevino.

Steve worked with the Fairfield County Veterans Affairs and as an avid farmer. Steve was an active member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. He was currently an Elder and the Chairman of the Hospitality Committee. He also served on the Board of Deacons and the Christian Education Committee.

Visitation is planned for Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 8002 Newberry Road, Winnsboro, S.C. and services are planned for Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church Session, as well as Al Berry, Cecil Tanner, DJ Beam, Perry Schwartz and Johnny Tanner. Pallbearers are Adam Smith, Jason Smith, Barney Smith, Brian Smith, Billy Smith, Mike Murphy, Mike Bankhead and Jody Beam.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon Presbyterian Church or Gideon’s International. The family would like to thank Dr. Derrick Barker, Dr. Leigh Hawn, Dr. Steven Minter, Dr. Philip Yeon and the nurses at Palmetto Baptist Hospital 8th Floor for their kindness and wonderful care.
