Shirley B. Locklair

WINNSBORO – Mrs. Shirley Locklair, wife of Jack Locklair, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born in Winnsboro, she was the daughter of Jane Thomas Boyter and the late Clifford Boyter. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jack Locklair, and daughter Julie Anne Locklair. Also a brother, Steve Boyter of Lexington; a niece, Heather Boyter of Columbia; mother-in-law, Betty Joyner of Winnsboro; sister-in-law, Patti Locklair (Terry) of Winnsboro; sister-in-law, Sandra McGugan (Glen) of Columbia; niece Emily Locklair of Winnsboro and nephew Glen McGugan of Maryland.

Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church and served on many committees and groups in the church. Among those, Shirley served on the Caring Group that cooks and delivers meals to the homebound. Shirley was also a valuable volunteer of the Fairfield County Food Bank and the Fairfield County Adoption Center where her main passion was taking care of the cats.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with services immediately following at 2 p.m.

Shirley poured her heart into Hoof and Paw animal organization and served as President and organizer. The family asks that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Hoof and Paw, P.O. Box 482, Winnsboro, S.C. 29180.
