Fairfield County Treasurer Norma Branham (second from left) happily accepts SCANA’s property tax check from Dan Gatlin (second from right), Vice President of Nuclear Operations at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville. In addition to the $26,238,295.23 SCANA paid on the power plant, the company kicked in another $675,926.66 on other properties it owns in the county. Joining Branham and Gatlin are Kevin Robinson, Financial Director at the Fairfield County School District; Carolyn Robinson, County Council Chairwoman; County Councilwoman Mary Lynn Kinley; Milton Pope, County Administrator and County Councilman Marion Robinson. The County took an $11,132,877.87 bight out of the check, while the School District took $2,145,222.48 for debt service and $13,615,460.30 for operations. More than $675,900 went to property tax relief.
