Charles Haven Cogdill

LAKE WATEREECharles Haven Cogdill, 80, of Lake Wateree lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Cogdill was born in Fairfield County to the late Haven A. Cogdill and Marie Hutto Cogdill.

Mr. Cogdill served in the National Guard and was employed with McMaster Enterprises. In addition to his mother and father, he is predeceased by his son, Thomas Charles Cogdill; and brother, Bobby Cogdill.

Charles is survived by two daughters, Carol (David) Wolfe and Lynn Rutland all of Winnsboro; granddaughter, Frances Rutland (Chris) Smith; and great grandson Fischer Alan Smith all of Gastonia, N.C. He is also survived by two sisters, Betty (Wilbur) Collins of Winnsboro and Annette Kennington of Columbia; one brother Bill Cogdill of West Columbia, and many special nieces and nephews all who he loved dearly.

The family would like to thank Bud Wolfe and Jim Lotruglio for all they have done for Charles during his illness.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Oct. 7, 2015 at Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 at Royal Pines Cemetery.
