Word of Thanks

Allow this letter to serve as a tremendous note of gratitude for the support and attendance at the recent memorial event to remember The Charleston Nine and Mother Emanuel AME Church, which was held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church on Sept. 6. This service brought churches throughout our county together to remember the Charleston communities and also served as a reminder that we are One in Christ. It was a wonderful celebration as we came together to worship and remember.

There were many who contributed to the success of this event: The Town of Winnsboro, St. Paul Missionary Baptist and other local churches, STEM School (staff and students), Christ Central, the Fairfield County School District, the Fairfield Legislative Delegation, Fairfield County Administration, The Voice, The Herald Independent, TruVista Cable, Glover Funeral Home, Fairfield EMS and McCutcheon Funeral Home. We are so grateful for the support of so many.

As we reflect on the positive comments following this time of worship and remembering, those of us in the ministerial community want to continue to sponsor events to truly bring us together as a community whose desire is to lift in the name of Jesus in all we do.

We invite you to be a part of this process. By doing this, The Charleston Nine will continue to live in the hearts of those who truly want our county, state and nation to see each other through the eyes of Jesus.

The Rev. T.O. Corbin, Pastor

St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church
