Bowers, Bengals Race into State Meet

Josh Bowers notched a third-place finish in the Mid-State meet.

COLUMBIA – The Blythewood boys cross country team finished seventh in the Mid-State Qualifier on Saturday at Sandhills. With the finish, the team qualified for the State Championship for the third straight year, and the fourth time in the last five years.

The team was led by junior Josh Bowers, who finished third overall with a time of 16 minutes and 12 seconds.

Other top finishers were Caleb Wilson (17:28), K.J. Mack (17:28), Terrell Gilmore (17:30) and Will Beacham (17:44).

The Bengals will return to action at the 4A State Championship meet on Nov. 7.
