Campaign Trail

A while back, Our Vice-Chairman of the Fairfield County Council made the remark that all roads leading to Lake Wateree were ‘Slick as Glass.’ Undoubtedly he was in an airplane at 30,000 feet where the roads do look like they are ‘Slick as Glass.’

I spent the weekend of March 5 campaigning for the Fairfield County Council District 2 seat. I attended a “Crime Watch” at the Dutchman Creek Fire Station on March 7 and on March 10 a meeting at the Presbyterian Church on Windmill Road with Officer D. J. Wilson and Sheriff Will Montgomery.

The homeowners on Lake Wateree have the highest taxes and worst roads in the state. Now there are two bridges out.

Lake Wateree homeowners and property owners deserve:

1. Better Fire Protection (fire stations placed where needed);

2. Lower property taxes;

3. Better roads; and

4. Someone on Fairfield County Council to voice their concerns.
