Inconsistencies

To clear up inconsistencies quoted by Fairfield County Council Chairwoman Carolyn Robinson in the paper, it is currently legal to sell alcohol on Sunday in the following neighboring areas: Kershaw, Richland and Lancaster counties, as well as the cities of Camden and Chester. Chester County has a referendum on the ballot this November.

This information is easily found on the Internet as well as verification through the prospective town or county council clerks, whose phone numbers are also available online.

It’s time for antiquated blue laws to be repealed, move into the 21st century and allow our local business owners an equal footing in a competitive market.

  1. People are going to buy alcohol prior to Sunday or holidays so why not sell in Fairfield? This may cut down on abuse.
