Fireworks and music set for park, July 3

BLYTHEWOOD – The Town of Blythewood has a big bash planned in the park for this year’s Independence Day celebration.

“It’s going to be on Monday, July 3 this year,” Mayor J. Michael Ross told The Voice. “And it’s going to be big. It will be the first event since the construction of our new band shell. There will be two great bands – Blues Delux from 5 – 6:30 p.m. and, of course, DB Bryant from 7 – 9:30 p.m.”

Food vendors will include Doko Smoke, Kona Ice, Scotties, The Donut Guy, Haute Dog Lady, The Nutty Squirrel, Sweet Pea’s Ice Cream and Palmetto Polar Snow.

“We ask that everyone bring their lawn chairs but no coolers,” Ross said. “And of course we will have fireworks in the sky about 9:30.”

Parking and driving will be strictly prohibited on a portion of McLean Road from 4 – 10 p.m. Signs are posted.
