Eagle volleyball had good run

MYRTLE BEACH – The Richard Winn Lady Eagles’ Volleyball team took to Myrtle Beach Friday to take part in the SCISA State Playoff Tournament. They had a tough first round, but bounced back to win three out their next four sets, before they were eventually eliminated in the third round.

Richard Winn had a difficult match-up in the opening round against Coastal Christian, and fell in straight sets. They dropped the first set in their second round contest against Cambridge, but then they hit their stride.

The Eagles faced elimination after the 25-20 loss in set one but they trounced Cambridge 25-12 and 25-20, over the next two sets to stay alive. That win kept their championship hopes alive, and left them with a third-round elimination game with Patrick Henry.

Patrick Henry took the first set 25-15, but RWA took one back with a 25-23 edge in the second. The Eagles’ season was brought to a close in the third and final set, 25-17.
