Bengals trounce Gators

LEXINGTON – The Blythewood Lady Bengals led off the night against River Bluff in a dominating defensive performance, and the boys, not to be outdone, followed with a stellar performance. The first half was closely was contested, but the Bengals proved to be too much and trounced River Bluff 77-56.

River Bluff jumped out to a 20-15 lead after the first quarter, but Blythewood charged back in the second. By halftime, the Bengals held a narrow 40-35 lead, but the Gator offense imploded in the second half.

The Gators only mustered 21 points combined in the third and fourth quarter. Blythewood scored 22 in the third quarter alone. Blythewood’s Charles Jackson III had a game high 28 points.

Fellow Bengal Robert Braswell joined Jackson in the 20-point club with 23. Terrill Windom was the leading River Bluff scorer with 18 points.
