Lady Redhawks dominate

BLYTHEWOOD – The Lady Redhawks racked up their sixth consecutive win Tuesday night by slipping past a tough South Pointe team for a narrow 63-58 victory. Westwood bettered their record to 16-1, and they sport a 4-0 Region 4-3A record.

The Redhawks’ sole loss of the season came from Wyoming East in the Carolina Invitational. South Pointe looked to be the first team in the state to hand Westwood a loss, and after a half of play, the Stallions led 36-27.

South Pointe came out flat in the third with just seven points as Westwood had too many tools in their arsenal. Unique Drake had 27 points, and Nyah Leveretter, the double-double collector, had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Mya Belton also scored 12.

The Stallions were the Lady Redhawks’ third victim in a week. They brushed passed Lancaster 79-36 on Friday and topped Lower Richland, 72-41, at the MLK Bash on Saturday.
