WINNSBORO – The Lady Griffins hosted Columbia Tuesday, and it quite the night for the Griffins. Wild pitches, errors and timely hitting propelled Fairfield to an easy 19-3 win in just three innings.

Columbia surrendered five hits to the explosive Griffin bats in the first, including an Amari Jones home run. The Griffins led 4-0 after the first inning.

Mikeshia Smith and Asia Williams both clocked solo home-runs in the second, and the Griffins padded their lead with five more runs. Then, in the third inning, the Griffins put the Capitals out to pasture.

Jones highlighted the massive inning with a two-RBI triple. The Griffins only had one hit in the 10-run third and four runs scored via wild pitches.

The Griffins are not back in action until after spring break when they host the Keenan Raiders.
