American Legion’s poppy contest honors veterans

WINNSBORO – The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 16 recognizes second grade students of Fairfield County schools who won their annual Poppy Coloring Contest.  The coloring contest brings awareness to the poppy’s symbolism of the services and sacrifices of veterans who have served the United States of America.

Elementary schools in Fairfield County School District and Richard Winn Academy participated in the effort to raise community awareness of the importance of the poppy.
