COLUMBIA – Though Fairfield Central’s track and field team did not finish the State Finals atop the podium, there were bright spots in the team’s performance.

China Woodard took bronze for the Lady Griffins in the long jump and placed sixth in the 100 meter. The girls 4×100 relay team snagged a second place finish.

The boys 4×100 relay team, which set a school record of 42.70 during qualifiers, earned the team’s only gold medal of the event. Wesley Benbow placed fifth in 100 and 200 meter and Jordan Boyd placed sixth in long jump.

The Lady Griffins finished in 15th place and the boys finished in 13th.
