Harrison announces for Dist. 1

It is with great pleasure that I announce my intent to seek re-election as the Fairfield County School District One Representative. I have faithfully served this community as a change agent for more than 30 years, and honorably served District One, in the Ridgeway Community, for the past two years after the passing of my dear friend and cousin, Andrea Harrison.

Harrison

Prior to serving as your board member, I served as the Fairfield Central High School PTO president for several years, I served on the school improvement council as a parent and community member, First Step board, a member of the NAACP, and continue to serve as a mentor to our children. Nearly nine years ago, I began a foundation that awards scholarship to our Fairfield County students that have the desire to continue their academic careers but need the additional assistance to achieve their goal.

As a business owner for the past 29 years I’ve witnessed the steady progress our county and state are making; and as the mother of three beautiful daughters, I understand the importance of a quality public school education. My daughters are a product of Fairfield County. They all graduated top of their class and earned their college degrees.

My oldest Monique McDaniels, graduated from Francis Marion University with a degree in political science and earned her master’s degree from Clemson University, my daughter Pariss Waters, graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Computer science and my youngest, Milaan Waters graduated at

the age of 16, salutatorian from Fairfield Central and sum cum laude from North Carolina State University with a degree in Animal Sciences and is currently waiting to begin veterinarian school this fall. I ‘m blessed and thankful along with their dad, Curtis Waters, to have raised fine and respectful young ladies.

They are a sentiment of my commitment and dedication to representing the needs of District One and enhancing the quality of our educational resources. Helping others and being a voice for all has always been a passion of mine my entire life. I love the children of Fairfield County and all those I’m entrusted with representing. I’m so thankful to be a part of the growth under the leadership of Superintendent Green. I’m thankful for the love and support from all the parents, schools, and especially my Geiger family.

District One Family, I am seeking re-election as your school board representative, November 6 and I am asking for your support. I pray that I did everything thus far pleasing in Gods eyesight. I pray that I have been the voice for all children. I pray that I have represented the Ridgeway area well and I pray you will continue to allow me to be your voice. It’s not an easy job, but I pray that everything I do is what’s best for all. I love my community and I have been an honored resident of Ridgeway for almost 7 years. I’m humbled by the outpouring of love and support I’ve received from the community and my schools. Thank you for your vote on November 6 to continue the work we’ve began.

Your District One Representative,

Sylvia D. Harrison
