RIDGEWAY – Several members of the Ridgeway chapter of the Institute of Cultural Communicators (ICC) recently attended the ICC international convention in Nashville, Tennessee where they competed in the International Forensics Championship Tournament.

Madeline Rambo, 11, won the ICC 20×2020 Video Competition, named for the ICC’s goal of equipping students with communication skills in 20 countries by 2020. Rambo entered a three-minute video sharing her own story of how she went from being afraid to speak in public to someone who knows and believes she can. Her winning video was a sand art presentation for which she was awarded a $500 scholarship.

Following the convention, Cassandra Shepherd, the ICC Global Director for ICC’s International Relations, who lives in Singapore, followed the Ridgeway chapter home for a two-week visit. Just before her return to Singapore, the group held a farewell luncheon for Shepherd in the Deli of Laura’s Tea Room on Palmer Street.
