BLYTHEWOOD – A couple of weeks ago Westwood defensive back Cam Smith announced his intentions to play for the University of South Carolina, but he may not be the only athlete in Blythewood headed for garnet and black. Bengals’ basketball guard Tre Jackson announced on social media over the weekend that he has received an offer from the Frank Martin led Gamecocks.
Jackson was a member of the 2017 team that made it to the 5A State Championship game, and last year’s team, which was just a round away shy of making a repeat championship appearance. He averaged 20 points a game last season to go along with a little over three assists per contest.
He has already made official visits to Winthrop University and Murray State, and has visits to Florida Gulf-Coast and Iowa State scheduled.
