BLYTHEWOOD/COLUMBIA – Robert “Rob” Edward Windhorn, Jr., 57, of Columbia, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, at Dorn VA Medical Center after a short illness. He was born December 8, 1960 in Columbia, SC. Rob was the son of Bob and Mickey Windhorn. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Spring Valley High School and the University of South Carolina. Rob was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church for most of his life. He worked for Policy Management Systems and Lockhead Martin for many years and was currently employed with Forest Lake Club. Rob retired after 20 years of service from McEntire Air National Guard, having served his county during Desert Storm.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his son, Jerry Windhorn; sister, Donna Harrison (Connor); as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The graveside service for Mr. Windhorn will be held 1 o’clock, Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, with Rev. Dr. Sam Marcengill officiating. The family received friends from 5 until 7 o’clock, Monday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1201 Richland Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
