Redhawks, Bengals place in CN Holiday Classic

COLUMBIA – The wrestling mats were rolled out this weekend and teams from all over the Midlands came together to take part in the Cardinal Newman Holiday Classic. Both the Bengals and the Redhawks took part in the event. Westwood finished in the eighth spot and Blythewood finished the night in the 13th spot.

Hightower

The Redhawks had two finalists, three placers and had a 12-15 win-loss record on the night. Eli Villa was the runner up in the 138-pound division, and Tyvion Shannon delivered a fourth place finish at 195 pounds. Jordan Hightower brought home the top spot in the 152-pound division, and was elected by coaches as the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.

Satchel Holloway was the only placer for the Bengals. Holloway wrapped up third-place at 170 pounds. The Bengals sported a 14-21 win-loss record on the night and finished above North Augusta and Andrew Jackson.
