BLYTHEWOOD – Ezekiel Washington’s Blythewood Bengals picked up a Region 4-5A victory over the Irmo Yellow Jackets on Tuesday night. Irmo was evenly matched with the Bengals for most of the night, but they suffered an atrocious second quarter. The Bengals held Irmo to just two points in the second, and eventually Blythewood escaped with a 56-45 victory.

Tre Jackson led the Bengals in scoring with 16. Travis Thompson had 13 and Markel Samuel recorded 12.

The Lady Bengals were not as lucky. Blythewood led 6-5 after a quarter of play, but Irmo dominated down the stretch. The Bengals were outscored 46-19 in the final three quarters. Blythewood knocked off the Yellow Jackets 50-45 in their prior meeting on Jan.11. Nymetria Wooten had a team high six points.
