Cyclones best Griffins

WINNSBORO – The Griffins had a tough conclusion to the end of their 2018-19 home schedule. Fairfield Central’s defense had fits trying to slow down Chester’s high-octane offense, and the Cyclones rolled Fairfield up for an 82-60 win.

Fairfield’s offense stuck close with Chester in the later quarter, but a tough first period set the Griffins back from the early going. The Cyclones racked up five shots from long range, and were up 25 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Senior JR Edmonds kept fighting late in the game against the big lead. Edmonds racked up 10 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter. The Griffins wrap up regular season play Thursday at Indian Land.
