WINNSBORO – Richard Winn faced a tough Wardlaw opponent Monday and Tuesday of this week, and Wardlaw swept the Eagles in the two-game series. The Eagles went down 16-1 in Monday’s matchup.

Monday’s only base runners included Emy Russell, who went 1-2 with a single, Anna Taylor Mathias and Meredith Pope, who both picked up walks, and Riley Simpson, who was hit by a pitch.

The Eagles fared better at the plate on Tuesday, but fell 15-4 in Johnston.

Richard Winn faced Richland Northeast on Wednesday and found redemption in the form of a 18-0 win. The Eagles round out the week at King on Friday for a conference game. They’ll play host to conference foe Laurens Academy on Monday for their first meeting of the season.
