Sheriff’s Department passes the torch

WINNSBORO – The Sheriff’s Department joined other law enforcement and first responders from the county to carry the Special Olympics torch from the Chester County line to the Richland County line last Thursday in an effort to promote awareness for Special Olympics.

They were joined by Fairfield County students who are members of the local Special Olympics team to carry the torch down Congress Street. Sir David and the Fairfield Central High School band’s percussion section performed as the torch passed through downtown Winnsboro.
