Input sought for Zion Hill, Fairfield school communities

WINNSBORO – Residents of the Zion Hill and Fortune Springs Park area are being invited to a community meeting sponsored by the Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) on Tuesday, July 23.

“We want the residents of these communities to tell us about the priorities they have for their area,” Gregory Sprouse, with CMCOG said. “We’ve been talking with community stakeholders about what they would like to see done in the Zion Hill and Fortune Springs Park area so we can develop a needs assessment plan for the area. We want to hear from everyone.”

Sprouse said the COG wants to identify project ideas and potential grant-funding opportunities for these neighborhoods.

“We hope folks will come out and talk with us, let us know what they would like to see improved in their neighborhood,” Sprouse said.

Those unable to attend the meeting but would like to provide input can contact Sprouse at (803) 744-5158 or email him at gsprouse@centralmidlands.org.

The meeting is set for Tuesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Fairfield High Alumni Building, 403 Fairfield Street in Winnsboro.
