NEWBERRY – Richard Winn volleyball officially kicked off preseason last Saturday in Newberry Academy’s annual jamboree.
The Eagles faced off with Newberry High School in their first match of the day. After falling 23-25 in game one, the Eagles rebounded with 25-23 and 15-10 wins over the Bulldogs.
Richard Winn got a taste of SCISA 1A action next as they battled Patrick Henry Academy. The Patriots handed the Eagles their first loss of the day in the form of 23-25 and 22-25 sets.
The Eagles ended the day with a loss to Shannon Forest Academy in straight sets, 16-25 and 19-25.
Richard Winn will host Calhoun Academy in a scrimmage tonight at 5:30 p.m. and start regular season action at Oakbrook Academy on Tuesday.
