RWA visits Green Energy Biofuel

WINNSBORO – Students from Richard Winn Academy (RWA) stopped by Green Energy Biofuel on South Congress Street last month to learn how grease becomes fuel from company owner BioJoe Renwick. Renwick, an alumnus of RWA, shared his experience and knowledge of the fuel industry with the students.

The company, which has been producing biofuel on South Congress Street for 11 years, recycles cooking oil from restaurants all over the Southeast and brings it to the Winnsboro location, which is the central point for restaurant collections. Earlier this year the company relocated its headquarters from Winnsboro to Aiken County.
