Shop Small on Saturday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY – While Black Friday kicks off the Christmas holidays in many towns, the magic day in Fairfield County is the next day – Shop Small Saturday.

“After a big day of shopping the big stores on Black Friday, come back home to Winnsboro and Ridgeway for some really great shopping on Saturday in our smaller hometown stores that offer great selection, big savings and customer service that can’t be beat,” Gene Stephens, President of the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce, said. “Plus you’ll be helping our community by supporting our local merchants, the folks who live and work here year round.”

Shop Small will also be in full swing from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Market Building at 117 E. Washington Street. There’ll be food and holiday vendors selling crafts and gifts for Christmas.

Parades

Ridgeway’s Christmas on the Ridge events kick off with the town’s annual Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 3 p.m., and a tree lighting with free carriage rides, music, Santa and shopping on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 – 8 p.m.

Also on Dec. 6, the Fairfield County Museum will hold its annual Christmas Open House at 4 p.m. at the museum, 231 S. Congress Street in Winnsboro.

Then more festivities on Sunday, Dec. 8 when the Winnsboro Christmas Parade will float through downtown Winnsboro beginning at 5 p.m., followed by the town’s tree lighting and visits with Santa.

On Dec. 14, the Market building will be hosting holiday vendors at the annual Winnsboro Holiday Market at 117 E. Washington Street behind the clock.
