GREENVILLE – Eastside proved too much for the Westwood Redhawks last Thursday in the third round of the Class 4A State playoffs. The Eagles took the match by a score of 3-1.
Eastside defeated the Redhawks in the first set 25-16, but Westwood evened the score at 1-1 after a 25-22 win in the second set. The Eagles pulled out the win with a momentum shift and wins of 25-14 and 25-19 in sets three and four to eliminate Westwood from the playoffs.
Eastside advanced to the Upper State match against Pickens.
