Letter: Future Is Bright in Fairfield

Fairfield’s 2019 September and October unemployment rates were the county’s lowest rates in at least the last two decades, according to the South Carolina Unemployment Rate and the FRED Economic Data. In fact, October’s 3.1 percent unemployment rate is less than half the 6.4 percent rate just three years ago.

All of this progress was achieved AFTER SCANA’s nuclear construction shutdown two years ago.

Furthermore, the county has at least two more significant economic developments coming in the near future besides the Wal-Mart announcement earlier this week.

Well done council! The future is bright in Fairfield County.
