LPGA tour plays BW Aug. 13-16

BLYTHEWOOD – The 2020 South Carolina Women’s Open starts today at the Cobblestone Park Golf Club.

There will be approximately 90 players in the field including Legends Tour Hall of Famer Rosie Jones, eight-time LPGA Tour Champion Michelle McGann, eight-time WSCGA State Amateur Champion Dawn Woodard, defending Open Champion Sydney Legacy and WSCGA Senior Amateur phenom Karin Wolfe.

The Pro-Am will be played on the championship course with a sold-out field consisting of three amateurs and one professional in each group.

Due to Covid-19, the Pro-Am will be flighted by handicap and a double tee start beginning at noon. Each flight will have the opportunity to win top prizes, trips and hole-in-one prizes

Four Divisions

There are four divisions in the event: Open Amateur (49 and under), Open Professional (44 and under), Senior Amateur (50 and over) and Senior Professional (45 and over). T

The Seniors will play two days, (Aug. 14 and 15); the Open Division will play three days (Aug. 14-16) and the Pro-Am on Aug. 13.

The winner of the Open Division will receive a sponsor exemption into a 2021 LPGA Symetra Tour Event in the Carolina’s along with a sponsor exemption into the 2020 Arizona Women’s Open. The Senior Division will be playing for prizes, and all professionals will be playing for prize money.

Tee times will start at 8 a.m. off of the first hole (Garnet #1) each day with the Seniors going off first on Friday and in the afternoon on Saturday.

Spectators are welcome with free admission, but must observe social distancing in compliance with CDC COVID.
