Griffins, Mavericks and Eagles face off in Chester

CHESTER – Richard Winn, Fairfield Central and Midlands STEM (MSI) cross country teams took to Chester last Tuesday for an early-season meet.

Richard Winn girls finished in third place out of six teams with 88 points. Caitlyn Talbert finished first for Richard Winn, in 17th place overall, with a time of 28:52. Catherine Blair Spires, ILeanna Bauploy Saint Germain and Mary Margaret Swearingen each finished under 30 minutes.

Fairfield Central girls finished with 103 points and in fifth place. Kensley Green finished in 10th place with a time of 26:43, followed by Jamie Downs in 14th at 27:34.

MSI runner Mya Kawolke finished in 25th place with a time of 30:06.

The Griffin boys finished third overall with 58 points. Joshua Mosley finished first overall and for the Griffins with a time of 17:27.00, followed by Luke Downs in third at 18:33.Nygel Woodard (21:14), Evelino Reyes-Hawes (21:32), Parker Douglas (23:05) and Hank White (23:21) all finished under 24 minutes for the Griffins.

Eli Moore finished first for MSI at 25:36. Mikecole Younts (26:39), Michael Lucas (36:54), and Isaiah Pierce (27:12) also finished under 30 minutes. Dylan Albert topped the Richard Winn boys with a time of 27:06.

The Eagles and Griffins were set to face off again at Fairfield Central on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time.
