COLUMBIA – For the second time in three trips to the South Carolina High School League’s 4A Individual State Championship, Westwood wrestler Drake Lesher pulled a third place finish. Lesher faced a James Island opponent in the first round, and advanced to the semifinals with a 17 second pin. After falling to his Beaufort opponent in the second round, Lesher recovered against a Dreher opponent for the third place finish. He pinned his final opponent in 50 seconds.
Lesher, who wrestles in the 195 class, finished in the top three in the Upper State Championship in late February, which qualifed him for the State Championship match.
