Blythewood girls top region, look to state qualifiers

COLUMBIA – Blythewood girls’ track team wrapped up the regular season atop the region.

First place finishers are from the region meet at Spring Valley are Arianna Williams (400m, 25.21), Anna Kelly (3200m, 13:02.11), Makeshria Brown (100m hurdles, 15.25), Latavia Bracey-Ransom (400m hurdles, 1:08.67), Briana Green (long jump, 16-8 and triple jump, 36.5), and Janyia Pinckney (javelin, 78-0). Pinckney set a new school record in javelin at the meet.  The girls 4×100m relay and 4×400 meter relay also finished first.

Finishing in second place were  Briana Green (100m dash, 12.33), Arianna Williams (200m dash, 25.21), Sinaii Weeks (high jump, 4-10), and Jenelda Aristhil (discus, 85-10).

Also heading to state qualifiers with top finishes are:

First place finishers for the Blythewood boys were Randy Kelly (high jump, 6-6), Connor Knight (discus, 137-10) and Josias Addison (shot put, 47-10.25).

Kelly had a second place finish in long jump at 21-3.  The boys 4x800m relay team also finished in second place.
