BLYTHEWOOD – It would have been difficult to find a nicer weekend than last weekend to tour farms in Blythewood. The occasion was the 2021 Ag + Art Farm Tour.

There were fresh picked bouquets, grazing sheep, fresh vegetables, backed goods, cute piglets and enchanting old barns at the various stops on the tour.

Local farms included in the tour were Purple Tuteur Farm, 787 Langford Road, Blythewood; Doko Farm, 2101 Cedar Creek Road, Blythewood; Sal’s Ol’ Timey Feed and Seed, 113 Hilltop Dr., Columbia; Fabel Farms, 1208 Hinnants Store Road, Winnsboro; One Hubcap Farm, 1236 Muller Road, Blythewood; and approximately 30 vendors were set up in the Blythewood Farmers Market, 171 Langford Road in Blythewood

“It was a great weekend and we had a good turnout,” Blythewood Farmers Market manager Michaela Barno said. “It was our first year to have the ancillary sites in the park, and we had some new and exciting vendors there.”

The tour continues this week in Fairfield County with a farm tour dinner Thursday night on long tables down the center of Dogwood Avenue in Ridgeway. That tour will be Saturday, June 19 and Sunday. June 20. It will also include a number of ancillary sites featuring farmers and artisans.
