Bengals top WSCGA tourney

HILTON HEAD – In keeping with the Lady Bengal golfing tradition, Blythewood High school is again topping tournaments this season, this time by a record 29 strokes. Blythewood finished first at the 2021 Women’s South Carolina Golf Association Junior Golf Foundation’s High School Invitational over the weekend with a team total of 609 strokes.

The Bengals were led by Paige Paolucci who fired a 72-73=145 and finished 3rd overall. Ella Stalvey finished T4th with a 73-74=147 for the tournament with teammates Carolina Hawkins (156) and Lizzie Madden (161).

Paolucci and Stalvey were named to the All-Tournament team, which was awarded to the top 5 overall individual players.

After a few years of capturing the State Runner Up title, the Bengals claimed a State title in 2019. They wrapped up the 2020-2021 season as State Runner Up, but look to reclaim the top spot this season.
