Eagles pick up wins over Lake Pointe

WINNSBORO – Richard Winn bounced back from a tight loss to Whitmire with a 62-54 win over Lake Pointe Academy last Friday. Junior Lawson Wade led scorers with 33 on the night, shooting 70% from the field, 67% from behind the arc. Wade also had 11 rebounds and three blocks on the night.

The Lady Eagles tallied their second win of the season against Lake Pointe with a 42-32 final. Senior Mikaela Miller led Eagle scorers with 13, followed by sophomores Delaney Young, Brinson Baker and Meagan Brigman with 7 each. Brigman added 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Miller had 9 rebounds, 4 steals and three assists. She also went 9 for 10 from the charity stripe.

On Monday, the Eagle boys blasted through Riverwalk Academy 70 – 13. Drew Spires led scorers with 13; Wade added 10. Charlie Bonds tallied 9 rebounds. Wade had 7 rebounds and four assists. Spires had four steals.

The Eagles hosted Whitmire on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time. They are set to travel to York for a rematch with Lake Pointe on Friday.
