Redhawk softball moves to 6-1

ROCK HILL – The Westwood softball team improved to 6-1 Monday, outlasting Rock Hill 11-7.

The Redhawks got two runs in the first, four in the second, one in the third, and four more runs in the sixth to outpace the Bearcats. Rock Hill put up two runs each in the second, third, and fourth innings, and got a run in the bottom of the seventh before Westwood starting pitcher Makayla Drakeford closed out the win.

Drakeford gave up seven runs on nine hits but struck out six and walked one.

Azaria Belton went 2-for-3with a triple, a home run, and an RBI. Erin Wilson went 2-for-3 and Alivia Hodges went 2-for-4.

Westwood plays host to the Bearcats today.
