Bengals claim second Soda City Classic Title

Bengal pitcher Lauren Hardy was named The State newspaper’s Athlete of the Week at the end of March. In the week she was nominated, Hardy went 2-0 with 20 strikeouts and allowed just three earned runs. She also was 4-for-7 at the plate. Most recently, Hardy had 10 Ks against Rock Hill last Thursday and batted 2-4 with a triple. | Martha Ladd

COLUMBIA – The Blythewood softball team eased past Rock Hill 11-1 Thursday, then kicked off Spring Break with another 5-0 performance in winning its second straight Soda City Classic at the Kelly Mill Sports Center Saturday.

The Bengals (12-4) roll back into the regular season at Spring Valley April 19.
